This exercise progresses the tennis ball endurance series to a standing position, bouncing the ball against a wall with the arm raised overhead. As with the earlier variations, it is performed in multiple arm positions – elbow straight and elbow bent at 90 degrees – to challenge scapular control across different ranges.
The standing position and overhead demand make this a more functional progression, preparing the shoulder for activities that require sustained control at height.
This exercise has been recommended by the clinical team at London Bridge Sports Medicine as part of a structured rehabilitation plan. Always perform it as directed by your clinician.
