This exercise targets the intrinsic muscles of the foot that support the arch, using a Theraband to provide gentle resistance at the big toe.
With the Theraband looped under your big toe, apply light upward tension on the band. Your goal is to keep the big toe in contact with the floor while maintaining that gentle pull. Hold for 30 seconds and repeat five times.
This is a subtle but effective exercise for retraining the small muscles of the foot – and one that is harder than it looks.
This exercise has been recommended by the clinical team at London Bridge Sports Medicine as part of a structured rehabilitation plan. Always perform it as directed by your clinician.
